After serving as an advisor to Zoove’s Board of Directors, Joseph Gillespie joined as President and CEO in 2010, overseeing all business operations and strategy for Zoove. Under Joe’s leadership, Zoove has launched StarStar Numbers across all of the top wireless carriers in the U.S., reaching 95% of mobile consumers, working with some of the U.S.’s largest media, retail, automotive and travel brands.
Prior to Zoove, Joe served as executive vice president of CBS Interactive Technology & News, after it acquired CNET Networks for $1.8 Billion in 2008. Joe joined CNET in mid-2004 as chief marketing officer, and eventually oversaw CNET’s Web 2.0 strategy, including several brand extensions to attract new audiences and advertisers. Prior to joining CNET Networks, Joe served as executive vice president, chief operating officer, and acting chief executive officer of Paul Allen’s Vulcan Ventures’ TechTV, which was acquired by Comcast in 2004 and merged with G4. Before his tenure at TechTV, he was executive vice president and chief operating officer of ZDTV, a Ziff-Davis, Inc. Company. He also served as executive vice president of corporate sales and marketing for Ziff-Davis, Inc.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism/communications from Rutgers College and is a current member of its advisory board. Joe lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and his pet black Lab. In his free time, he enjoys music, cars, golf, and hiking in the Marin Headlands.
Timothy Jeminson is a serial entrepreneur and the Co-founder of Zoove. He has led the company from concept and inception, raised over $60M of venture capital investment and has secured exclusive carrier deals with Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. Tim holds a granted patent describing a SS7/IN based abbreviated dialing platform which is the basis for the technology behind the Zoove platform.
Prior to Zoove, Tim served as Director of Sales for Appiant Technologies, a software applications and communications infrastructure organization, providing hosted carrier class Unified Messaging solutions for service providers (Wireless, ISP, LEC’s, ASP) and large enterprise customers.
Tim was also Vice President of Operations and Chief Technology Officer for CollegeLink.com and was a Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer for Online Scouting Network, Inc., an Internet-based athletic recruiting service. Mr. Jemison was featured on the cover of ‘Success Magazine’ in November 1996, describing the $1.5 million angel investment he secured for Online Scouting Network from 15 professional athletes. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
Peter Gregovich serves as the CFO at Zoove, where he is responsible for all financial operations. Prior to joining Zoove, Pete held a broad range of financial leadership roles at both public and private companies, including CFO/Vice President of Finance and Operations for Halogen Media Group, Allbusiness.com, and Dun & Bradstreet (DNB Digital). Previously, Pete spent nearly a decade with CNET Networks, and served as CNET’s Senior Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis. Pete holds an MBA from Golden Gate University and earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Diego State University.
Marty Siewert serves as Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for leading all aspects of commercial strategy and execution for the company. Since joining Zoove, Marty has expanded the company’s U.S. foothold from the New York City office, where his pragmatic and straightforward style fits right in.
Driven and dynamic, Marty is a seasoned, inspirational business leader, with diverse, hands-on strategic experience in management consulting, digital media, social analytics, sales enablement, advertising, software, business intelligence and e-commerce. Marty joined Zoove from Operative Media where he launched and led the rapid growth of a new cloud-based platform, and directed field operations. Previously, he held executive positions at Kadient (now Qvidian), ATG, ClearForest/Reuters and Axiom Consulting. He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics from Xavier University.
Mike Caffey has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and has been managing large development teams for many years in both the Telecommunications and Aerospace industries. He has broad experience in deploying carrier-grade communications systems and joined Zoove to provide technical direction and management oversight for Zoove’s engineering and product validation teams.
Prior to joining Zoove, Mike was Director of Engineering for SS8 Networks where he led R&D for the organization’s Unified Communications product portfolio and worked closely with carriers to establish product plans and provide guidance on the product road map for SS8. Mike was also an engineering manager for WorldCom, Inc. where, as a part of the Network Development team, lead development of an Enhanced Services Platform focused on Enhanced 800 services. Before diving into the Telecommunications Industry, Mike worked in the Aerospace industry for two companies developing software for both military and commercial flight simulators. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from the University of Tulsa.
Tim Hanlon is the Founder and CEO of The Vertere Group, LLC, a boutique investment advisory and strategic consulting firm focused on helping today’s most forward-leaning brands, content producers, entrepreneurs, and investors benefit from rapidly changing technological advances in marketing, media and consumer communications. Tim has over 20 years of classic, digital and “emerging” media and marketing experience, including journalism experience, production, editing and writing stints at CBS News, Sports Illustrated, the former Radio & Records, and the Voice of America. Tim holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business, and a BA from Georgetown University.
Chuck Parrish, formerly cofounder and executive vice president of Phone.com (PHCM) (now Openwave Systems, Inc. (OPWV) in Redwood City, California, is now a private investor and advisor to several technology companies. Before cofounding Openwave, Chuck was vice president of marketing and general manager of Mobile Data for GTE Mobile Communications (now Verizon (VZ)). Chuck also served as chief of staff in the Department of Interior during the Carter Administration, and was a division director in the Georgia Department of Natural Resources under Governors Jimmy Carter and George Busbee. Chuck is married with two grown children and splits his time between San Francisco, CA, Martha’s Vineyard, MA and Sarasota, FL.
Joe Peyronnin is currently an investor and adviser to several digital media companies. He also is a journalism professor at both the New York University and Hofstra University as well as a regular contributor to The Huffington Post, where he writes about politics, business and the media. Joe has spent forty years working in the field of journalism as a senior executive, producer, writer and educator covering ten national elections, a dozen international summits and a handful of military conflicts. Joe created and ran Telemundo’s first network news division as its Executive Vice President as well as previously served as President of Fox News, put together the core of what is now the Fox News Channel and was instrumental in creating Fox News Sunday. He has won two Emmy Awards, a Polk Award and a special award from MHA-NYC. He has an MBA from Walter Heller School of Business at Roosevelt University and a BA from Columbia College Chicago.
Dirk Rients is currently SVP, Director of Mobile at DDB Chicago where he leads all mobile initiatives for the agency. Prior to joining DDB, he was VP, Mobile at Draftfcb in Chicago where he provided mobile marketing counsel to clients, as well as creating, activating, and executing mobile programs that further advance mobile thinking among clients and account teams. As a pioneer and true-believer in the myriad opportunities mobile offers marketers, Dirk understands that many brands are engaged in a sincere struggle surrounding how to integrate mobile into their overall strategy. His years of experience and leadership give him the expertise needed to guide multiple clients in how to use mobile marketing correctly.
Marc Ruxin is the CEO and Founder of TastemakerX, a social, mobile, discovery game for music. Previously, Marc ran Universal McCann’s global Innovation practice across businesses and disciplines, and spent the previous three years in a similar role at sister company McCann WorldGroup. Marc sits on the Boards and Advisory Boards of numerous internet and technology start-ups in Silicon Valley. He started his career in A&R at EMI Records. Marc has a BA from Hamilton College and an MBA from Columbia Business School, and lives in San Francisco with his wife and three children. Marc blogs about music and film at Snooze Button.
Michael Shim is an entrepreneur, early stage investor/advisor and seasoned mobile technology executive. As the founder and Managing Partner of True North Advisors LLC, Michael looks to help visionary teams with their mobile strategy, partner development, local/SMB marketing, recruiting and fundraising efforts. He has worked with companies such as Fanatics, Flint, and Everyscreen Media. In addition to Zoove, Michael currently serves on the advisory boards of HaulerDeals, Consumr and ProSiebenSat.1. Michael is also a co-founder & President of New Frontier Foods, Inc. a new natural products company that is leveraging the science of superfoods to make ordinary foods healthy and delicious.
Prior to starting these new ventures, Michael served as Vice President, Mobile Partnerships & Marketing at Groupon, helping shepherd the local commerce startup from pre-IPO rocketship to significant mobile ecommerce revenue. Before Groupon, Michael was Vice President, Mobile at Yahoo! where he led BD and sales, and helped catalyze that company’s mobile advertising business.
Michael began his career as a corporate lawyer with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett where he specialized in M&A and securities offerings in the telecom, media and technology sectors. He holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.A. from Georgetown University. He is a Board Member of the Georgetown Technology Alliance.
K-Yun is currently SVP of Insights for Zenith Optimedia, where he is focused on development of new products for Zenith Interactive, such as social media, content marketing, digital video development, branded entertainment, syndication, and analytics and new business / client evangelization. Prior to Zenith, K-Yun has held VP and media strategy positions at Moxie Interactive, Carat and Beyond Interactive. With 11+ years experience in digital media and marketing. His current focus is in leveraging emerging technology to develop agency offerings. K-Yun earned a BA in Creative Writing from Trinity College in Hartford and resides in New York City.
Howard Ziment has over 22 years experience as a senior business executive and strategic marketer. He is currently a management consultant, strategic and marketing advisor and coach of senior executives and entrepreneurs. For over 20 years Howard served as CEO of The Ziment Group, growing revenue to over $80 million and becoming the fourth largest private health care research organization in the world. In 2001 he sold The Ziment Group to The Kantar Group, the information and consultancy division of the WPP Group (the world’s largest marketing services organization), and continued as CEO of the division for five more years. Since 2006 he has served as the Non-Executive Chairman of The Ziment Group.
